What is a Personal Growth Plan?

A Personal Growth Plan (PGP) helps students and parents track progress and goals through the school years and prepare for post-high school plans.

Starting in middle school and throughout high school each student develops and maintains a PGP to help build strong academic habits, set relevant and achievable goals and begin envisioning their future college and career plans.

Each student's Personal Growth Plan includes information and/or goals in the following areas:

  1. Academic indicators like grades, test scores and academic goals.
  2. Foundational skill areas including self-awareness, attendance, extracurricular activities and life goals.
  3. Career and college planning (grades 6-12) like career interest inventories, resume tools and course planning.

PGP Activities

The Personal Growth Plan includes a series of grade-based activities and measurements which help students to make informed choices for high school and beyond, set relevant and achievable  goals and take action to achieve their goals. Teachers, counselors and other staff members provide consultation and support to help guide students throughout the process.

Completing Personal Growth Plan activities, including developing a postsecondary plan, is a requirement for graduation from 草榴社区 Public Schools per School Board Policy 601.1.
